You've got the defensive chart up twice.

Interesting to see Hedman where he is on there. His team gets swept and he's in the top 10-15% at EV shot attempts against. I guess that's possibly a result of Montreal's depth forwards doing a good portion of the damage in that series? Still, it speaks well of him, I would think.

Apologize, and fixed it.

And oh yeah, Montreal inflicted a world of damage away from Hedman. The goals were 4-3 in favor of Montreal, but the attempts were 74-59 in favor of Tampa Bay.

Montreal just destroyed the other guys though, like Carle and Gudas.

Any surprising candidates in the shot differential charts for either position?

Trav just a thought on how the Avs were able to push the Wild to 7 games considering most/if not all fwds were in bot 50% in EV SA/60.

I posted this trade proposal in the previous blog and was just wondering what some of your input might be.

I know the matter of acquiring another forward should be well down the priority list, but I've been wondering after hearing many media outlets report the same thing on the Sharks, if maybe prying Pavelski out is possible.

To Ott - Pavelski, right to negotiate with Boyle, & Conditional 4th

To SJ - Spezza, rights to negotiate with Hemsky, Weircoch & 2015 2nd

There is no way in hell that SJ would do a Spez for Pavelski straight up. By trading them Spezza and giving them the rights to Hemsky gives them the "re-tool" everyone is expecting them to do and sweetening the deal with Weircoch gives them the option to dump Hannan and add youth. Just a thought. Criticize away.

I think your package isn't too far off in terms of fair value. I just think San Jose should be really smart, obviously, about not doing anything drastic w/ the roster.

But, I am all for sending our finest vultures to take a shot at it

I don't see why they would trade their best, second youngest center who is signed to a reasonable long-term deal and has no injury history for another center who is older, injury prone, and a UFA after next year.

Weircioch and a 2nd aren't nearly enough to motivate them there.

Big Joe will be the one to move.

I didn't watch any of the Philly-New York series, but I'm impressed where B Schenn and Akeson ended up on that chart. Did they look as good on the ice as those numbers do?

Marco Scandella gets lost in the shuffle with how much attention Ryan Suter, Jared Spurgeon, and Jonas Brodin garner but he has played so well this season especially in the defensive zone!

Seeing the Red Wings top 4 D-men (assuming that Smith is Brendan) in the top Quarter is really surprising.

The only reason I speculate on Pavelski is the influx of talk today from almost every major media source saying that the "culture" needs to change in San Jose. You also have to take into account both Marleau and Thornton just took home town discounts to stay with the Sharks. I'm thinking just from the POV of maximizing the return from both sides.

Thornton and marleau both have full NMC, and just took home team discount extensions. They aren't going anywhere.

In fact, the only two forwards (that have any value in a trade) are pavelski, couture, and Hertl......and frankly, two of those guys are as close to untouchable as you get on this roster
